By-Product Synergy NW
Turn your waste into profit!

Since March 2008, By-Product Synergy Northwest member companies and participating city and county representatives have pursued and implemented synergy, recycling, and material re-use opportunities which have contributed to:
- Diversion of waste from landfill
- Reductions in cost of hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposal
- Reduced cost of materials inputs and raw materials
- Exploration of new business opportunities
New Members are welcome. You are invited to join the project and to participate in creating a beneficial impact on your business and the city in which it is located. You will have the opportunity to conduct materials exchange discussions with members of By-Product Synergy Northwest and other regional business leaders. You will gain opportunities for your organization to cut disposal costs, increase revenue, reduce energy and resource use and showcase your company’s green achievements. You will also learn about opportunities to participate in regional synergy clusters.

Endorsements
- This is essentially an economic development program that has excellent environmental results. We are pleased that this project is launching in Puget Sound with the endorsement of the Puget Sound Regional Council.
~Bob Drewel, Executive Director of the Puget Sound Regional Council and the Prosperity PartnershipThis is further proof of what we in Seattle have been saying for a long time – that finding new ways to protect our environment and stop global warming will create jobs and economic opportunities. This effort will show that wasting less and reusing more is good for the planet and good for the bottom line.
~Greg Nickels, Mayor, City of Seattle
By-Product Synergy NW is a unique project that works with companies to profitably turn waste into resources that can be used by other companies. Costly waste is eliminated while the reuse of materials reduces greenhouse gas emissions. This process for closing the loop on material flows is integral to the King County mission of leading the Northwest toward a sustainable economy. We laud the By-Product Synergy Network and its participating companies and organizations for bringing this visionary program to the Northwest.
~Ron Sims, King County Executive
